The functioning and work of the Supervisory Committee and of the Controller involves several processing activities, such as the collection, storage, consultation, and use of personal data. The processing of personal data is subject to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 and is under the supervisory powers of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). The Secretariat, represented by the Head of the Secretariat, assists both entities in fulfilling their tasks and acts as Data Controller for the purpose of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. In other words, the Secretariat determines the why and the how in what concerns the way the personal data are processed; as such, the Secretariat is accountable for all the processing activities.
The Secretariat provides online privacy notices to inform all individuals on the handling of personal data in the framework of the different processing operations. These processing operations are further described in a dedicated public register. The register contains information explaining why and how the Secretariat processes personal data. The Data Protection Officer (DPO) maintains this public register.
To exercise your rights under Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (e.g., to have access to your data, to request rectification or erasure of your data), please contact the Head of Secretariat.
